How to record an interview over the phone using Skype. This is a really cool process. You do not Outlook on your computer for this to work properly though:

Tips when recording your interview
  1. Speak slowly when asking your questions...this will make it easier to edit the audio later on if necessary.
  2. Make sure any recording equipment you'll be using is charged up and ready to go.
  3. It is a good idea to practice your interview with your recording equipment prior to conducting your real interview.
  4. Make sure your subject is fully aware that you are recording the interview. Let the subject know what you intend to do with the interview (eg-make a podcast, play it in front of a class, use it in a multimedia project, etc).
  5. Consider giving some of the questions to the teacher beforehand. This will allow the teacher to think through their responses prior to being interviewed.

Recording Methods:
  1. iPod with microphone attachment
  2. video camera-just record the audio portion on the camera (this is probably the last method I would recommend due to the fact that it will take a fair amount of time to pull your audio off of the tape onto the computer)
  3. Record a telephone call-using skype and skylook, you can record your telephone call.
